Only Teak of the finest quality, Tectona Grandis, is utilized for its exceptional durability,
strength and attractiveness. All Teak exported from Myanmar
is harvested from sustainable managed forests in accordance
with the well established Myanmar selection system whereby
only trees which meet national minimum girth limits are
allowed to be harvested.
Teak requires no maintenance,
no storage and still lasts a lifetime. Due to its naturally
high oil content Teak is unsurpassed for its durability
outdoors. Unlike other 'hardwoods' it will not warp, split
or crack. One only has to look at the Teak decks on ocean
liners or the benches in our parks to appreciate its
longevity.
Left outdoors all year round it
mellows to a graceful silver patina, and only needs an
occasional wash down with soapy water.
